S&P 500 Index Options

Hi,

IBKR offers S&P500 Index call and put options. I am unable to pull the options chain on NT8. How do I go about setting it up on NT8?

IB uses the ticker SPXW Expiry Put/Call Strike.

At the current time, Interactive Brokers only supports trading Equities and Futures options through the API. Index options unfortunately do not receive real-time data or can be traded through this connection at this time.

Hi Manfred,

I asked as I was able to pull spx's option chain on the tws platform but couldn't pull it on nt8's option chain.

It would seem like tws is good to go with spx options.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Not all products Interactive Brokers offers through TWS are also available through the API. Data for index options, for example, is not submitted through the API and is not received by NinjaTrader.

As this is a limitation of the underlying API, the platform itself cannot circumvent this.

Options for Equities and Futures instruments do receive data and should not cause this issue.
