Backtest registering 0 trades

    Backtest registering 0 trades

    Hello,

    I'm attempting to backtest a strategy but the data is returning 0 trades. Am I only able to run a backtest during market hours? On my first set of attempts, I was connected to my personal data feed which I use throughout the week. My second attempt I connected to the Kinetick connection to see if I could access the historical data that way. No luck.

    Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. I've poked around some of the prior posts but didn't find my exact answer being asked. Below is some additional information.
    • What version of NinjaTrader are you using? 8.0.25.0 64-bit
    • Who are you connected to? CB
    • (For a chart) what interval is selected? 15 minute NQ
    • Do you receive an error on screen? No errors on screen.
    • Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? Errors showing when the connection was changed from CB to Kinetick switched back

    Hello CB,

    Can you please clarify what broker/data feed is referred with "my personal data feed". Is this a "NinjaTrader Continuum" connection? I'm referring to the broker/data feed you select in the Available box of the Connections window which you open at Control Center-->Connections by clicking configure in the lower right corner.

    If you set the Display field to Chart in the Strategy Analyzer, do you see the requested historical data?

    Do you have the NQ 06-22 selected or a different expiry month?

    What start and end dates do you have selected in the Strategy Analyzer?

    If you backtest the 'Sample MA crossover' strategy, do you get results?

      Thanks for your response, Jason. I've discovered I'm not able to backtest a strategy that contains an ATM strategy. I think I'm good now
