Why is the cash value SOOOOOO BAD and laggy
Why is NT cash value so bad? You place a trade and you could take a loss or a profit and its never right. I have the fee schedule set and commissions and its still so freaking far off. One day I showed a profit of $2400 or so and it was off by $200 dollars the next day when I logged in. Then today I was showing cash value of $344 and in a trade that was going green and then all of a sudden it closed my trade and showed I had only $42 dollars. WTF NT. Can't you guys get your crap together and show correct numbers. Literally EVERY other trade software I've used gets it right. How freaking hard is it to get your software to set that up? If there was some weird margin that was hit some other day then the software needs to deal with that much better. The "we have to wait for things to settle" junk is ridiculous. You can literally have that in the formula and tackle that nearly immediately.Tags: None

Hey vegas3416, here are my thoughts as I've noticed the same thing- Slippage, NT I believe calculates your unrealized PNL from the last close price but once you submit a trade especially market orders then NT records your fill price which can be off by a couple of ticks depending on the market.
- The next day when you noticed it was off $200 could be commissions, I found that NT brokerage takes off commissions either at midnight of next session open.

Hello vegas3416,
Thank you for writing in.
As well, thank you JakeOfSpades for your suggestions as they are two great points as to why the values could be different.
Please know that many of the values showing in the Control Center > Accounts tab are being provided directly through the connection to your Broker, by your Broker.
Please see the Image Below for a list of what Values are expected to be provided by each of the different Brokers:
As well, I would like to provide a little more information on suggestion #1 from JakeOfSpades:- "Slippage, NT I believe calculates your unrealized PNL from the last close price but once you submit a trade especially market orders then NT records your fill price which can be off by a couple of ticks depending on the market."
- Within the Control Center > Accounts tab, the Realized PnL is often/normally going to be provided by the Broker directly as shown above.
- With an Order Entry Window like Chart Trader or the SuperDOM, the PnL is going to be calculated from the Last Close price as suggested above.
- Please see the following Help Guide link for more information on the PnL displayed within the Order Entry Windows:
If you are placing orders and they are filling at different prices, you may be experiencing rendering delays that are causing the charts to fall behind and not be able to update in real time.- As a quick test, open a New > SuperDOM window and set the instrument to the same one that is selected in the Chart.
- Do the Last Traded Price, Ask Price, and Bid Price all update together or is the chart falling behind and not updating at the same time?
- If they are not in sync, you are experiencing Rendering Delays and either need to:
- Reduce the demands of the Workspace, remove things 1-by-1 until the charts stop lagging.
- Or, create a new Workspace, restart NinjaTrader and then build up from there adding things 1-by-1 until things slow down again so you know the last thing added was responsible.
- If this is the case, I recommend rebuilding the workspace using as many of the tips and suggestions on optimizing performance from the Help Guide article below:
- If they are not in sync, you are experiencing Rendering Delays and either need to:
- Do the Last Traded Price, Ask Price, and Bid Price all update together or is the chart falling behind and not updating at the same time?
