    Hi there,

I have tried multiple times to install Ninja Trader 8 onto my Windows 10 X64 PC today. The program installs, but then tries to install Microsoft Edge Webview 2, which I already had on my PC. When it comes to installing the Microsoft Edge Webview 2 Runtime I get an installer error 124 message. I had to cancel install and the Ninja installer reverts back. I removed Edge Webview 2, but the same thing happened again when I tried a fresh install. There is hardly any info on the net regarding this 124 error message. Is there a Ninja 8 version that doesn't require this add on, which I can install separately?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    CrAcKeDuP

When NinjaTrader 8 is installed on a 64bit Windows operating system, it will put two icons on your desktop. One will run NinjaTrader in 32bit, the other runs NinjaTrader in 64bit. You will have access to all the same settings and data. Please start NinjaTader using the 64bit icon on your desktop.

If you do not have the NinjaTrader 64bit icon, please perform an uninstall/reinstall of NinjaTrader 8.

You will save all settings and data including your charts and indicators. They are saved at Documents-->NinjaTrader 8 which is unaffected when you uninstall NinjaTrader in Windows.
        • First, please make a copy of the license key entered at Control Center-->Help-->License Key as you need it to download NinjaTrader.
        • Make sure NinjaTrader is shut down.
        • Uninstall NinjaTrader 8 via Windows start menu-->Settings-->Apps.
        • Download and install NinjaTrader 8.0.26.1 from the link below.
          https://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
Check if you now have the NinjaTrader 64bit icon on your desktop.

why both the 32bit and 64 bit versions are installed? if I use the 32 bit on 64 bit windows, does it give me any performance impact? Does it has a 4GB memory access limit? Or on the other hand, providing me additional compatibility or stability?

            Hello timko,

Yes, NinjaTrader can only use so much RAM when running in 32 bit (~ 4 GB RAM). When you run applications in 64bit, there is no such limitation.

In the past, some broker/data feed connections required NinjaTrader to be running in 32 bit. You can delete the 32 bit icon on your desktop to avoid accidently running NinjaTrader in 32 bit.

                Hello Grippa,

                Thank you for your response.

Just to be clear, you are receiving error code 124 as it relates to Microsoft Edge Webview or are you receiving some other type of error? If it is not that exact error, can you please provide a screenshot of what you are seeing?

I look forward to your response.

The program installs, but then tries to install Microsoft Edge Webview 2.. Which it cannot, then uninstalls completely. Can I get a direct platform download link without the Microsoft add-on

                    Hello Grippa,

                    Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately, I do not have a version of the installation file that does not have Microsoft Edge Webview 2.
                    • What version of Windows are you currently using?
                    • Do you have any pending Windows Updates to run?
                    • Do you experience the same behavior if you manually install Microsoft WebView2 first, then you run the NinjaTrader 8 installer after? You may install it from the publicly available link below;
I look forward to your reply.
