    100 contracts in ES

Are there any real traders who trade large size E-mini S&P contracts on Ninja Trader. Let's say 100 contracts. It say that it is the max number of contracts allowed to trade and I want to try to trade this number of contracts. But I really want to know that it is possible to trade 100 contracts of ES...

Why do you think it's not possible?

      Hello ScalperSpecltr,

Yes, as long as you have the funds in your account and your broker allows it, you can trade more than 100 contracts.

I understand that it is theoretically possible. My question was more about the possible issues in connection to using large sizes. Like slippage maybe, so I wanted to learn if people are facing issues with using large size in E min S&P. Thanks a lot!

          Hello ScalperSpecltr,

Slippage is largely affected by latency. But larger contract sizes can take longer to fill in a slow market which could lead to part fills.

            '... trade 100 contracts of ES ...'

Which order entry type are you using?

Slippage will only happen on Market orders.
Yes, Market orders 'slipping' to the next price result in intermediate
partial fills -- but these happen so fast that you don't care --
market orders on the ES will always fill.

Partial fills will only happen on Limit or StopLimit entry orders.
These partial fills may result in quantity fills < 100, and thus a
smaller position < 100, which happens when price suddenly
moves away from your limit entry price, never to return.

What time of day are you wanting to trade?
Are you trading when the US equities markets are open?

There is more volume on the ES in the first few hours. Eg,
the chance of a live order Market fill of 100 contracts with no
            slippage
is usually very good in first few hours after the open.
Some days, such as FOMC days, maybe less so.

            Just my 2˘.
