Adjusting the open/close time of 240 min (4hr) candles

Hello,
Anyone know how/if the open/close of 240 minute (4hr) candles can be adjusted? On all my other platforms the opens are 1:00, 9:00, 13:00, 17:00, 21:00 but NT opens at midnight and runs 1 hour behind. I am in the EST time zone.

Welcome to the forums!

NinjaTrader uses end of bar timestamps. Note that some platforms use beginning of bar timestamps.

Then, timestamps are translated to the timezone that is set in the Control Center's Tools > Options > General menu.

So how do I change it so the 4hr candles open or close at 1:00am instead of midnight?

Hello rossitronic,

Each instrument's trading hours would vary, but if we consider:

• using Default 24 x 7 which ends at midnight and uses EST as the timezone
• setting the platform timezone to EST (UTC - 5)

will have the 480 minute bar stamped at midnight.

If we consider:

• using Default 24 x 7 which ends at midnight and uses EST as the timezone
• setting the platform timezone to Atlantic time (UTC - 4)

The timestamp of the bar will be 1:00AM.

(After changing timezones, be sure to clear historical data from the historical data window, and then clear your bar cache Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\cache\ since changing the timezone does not change the existing bar history. Once complete, you can restart the platform.)

If you instead want to change the timezone or the start / end times of the the Trading Hours template, you could copy the Default 24/7 template and modify either of those properties.
