AMP and Prop Brokerage Accts

Good day,

I currently already have a brokerage account with AMP Global (futures) and I have prop accounts with Bulenox and Apex (bulenox and Apex I am already trading in NT8). But how do I get my AMP account into NinjaTrader? So I can trade all 3 accounts in NT8?

Exact steps would be appreciated greatly! Thanks!

Are you connecting to Apex and Bulenox at the same time
using the exact same instance of NT8 on a single PC?

I ask this because both these prop firms use Rithmic,
and instantiating multiple Rithmic connections at the same
time is generally not possible.

However ... in certain cases, I have seen it done.

If you are able to do this, I presume this is because you
have a multi-broker license key purchased before 2014?

That is, these older license keys are 'grandfathered-in'
and have additional kinds of connections that newer license
keys are prevented from making.

Is this your case?

For ex, I have a m/b lifetime license key purchased in
December 2013 -- thus my license is 'grandfathered in',
and I see 16 available connection types, which include,

Rithmic
Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage
CQG
Continuum
NinjaTrader Continuum

I'm pretty sure newer customers who have purchased more
recent m/b lifetime keys won't see this many connections.

My point is: I think it's possible for legacy AMP customers
to connect to NT8 if they have a grandfathered license key.

How old is your AMP account?

Also, I presume your AMP account is either CQG or Continuum,
as long as AMP is not using Rithmic, that is the important part.

I'm theorizing that, if you have an older AMP account, you might
have some legacy benefits with a legacy AMP account that, when
combined with your older 'grandfathered-in' NinjaTrader license key,
would allow you to create a CQG connection using account credentials
provided by your AMP broker.

Have you talked to AMP for help connecting your AMP account
to NinjaTrader?

AMP, I think, no longer supports NinjaTrader, but if you can approach
the conversation with your AMP broker from a legacy point of view,
which also means you have a 'grandfathered-in' NinjaTrader license
key, maybe AMP can give you CQG credentials that will work with
an NT8 'CQG' type connection.

I presume NT Support will tell me I'm way off base and what you're
asking cannot be done ... but it seems to me it could work.

AMP connections would generally use CQG connections. You could test connecting to a CQG based connection when the Simulated license key is entered, but this would not provide the live account.

If you can connect there, but cannot connect with the live license key entered, it would point to a licensing limitation.

From there, you could open a ticket at support.ninjatrader.com and our staff can work more closely on a licensing related question and could better discuss grandfathered connections and qualification.
