    Equidistant spacing for future dates

    Hello,

Is there a way to space out future dates the same way past dates are?

Image shows dates at bottom of chart. Note the wider spacing in 2023. Why is this happening? Objects of the same size have different time spans based on where they are on the chart.

I already have "Equidistant bar spacing" checked.

    Thanks,
    Jazzman

    Hello jazzman,

    Thank you for your post.

To further assist you with your inquiry about the spacing on your chart please provide a screenshot of your entire chart.
    • To send a screenshot with Windows 10 or newer I would recommend using the Windows Snipping Tool.
    • Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save it as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Please note, i drew a blue line on a daily chart, extended 1 year. Copied/Pasted line into the future. The future line is only 8 months, 9 days. The month/year labels on the bottom expand past current date.

      Thank you

        Hello jazzman,

        Thank you for your post.

I appreciate you sending the screenshot. The reason this would not be possible is because the NinjaTrader platform itself does not predict how many candles will be there in advance.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

          Hello Angelica,

I don't understand your answer. I have the setting "Default 24/7 template" enabled. For days in the past, it works like correctly. For future days, it strips out weekdays and holidays. Why can't you simply have it show seven days a week if the default template is "Default 24/7".

If i draw a line into the future, the data point/line it shows me is inaccurate. Why is this acceptable?

          Thanks.

            Hello jazzman,

            Thank you for your post.

The data point or line will not show accurately, because its just an estimate since it cannot predict the number of trading days in the future. If you were to draw into the past, the line will be accurate since the data already exists for days traded.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

              Hello Angelica,

"The data point or line will not show accurately, because its just an estimate since it cannot predict the number of trading days in the future."

Everything is wrong about that statement.

You ARE providing/estimating the number of trading days in the future.

I am using the "24/7" template. It should include weekends and holidays (364-365 days). It does in the past. It does not in the future. It uses days market open in the future, the estimate you say is not happening (251-252 days).

              Its a bug.

              Regards

                Hello jazzman,

                Thank you for your post.

Please be advised that this is not a bug.

Future charts will not exclude trade-free days, occupying the 'empty' space of a candle, thus extending the chart.
