    VPS Chart delays when viewed in remote desktop

    When using NT8 on a VPS I'm experiencing a delay in chart progression when re-opening from a minimized position using Windows Remote Desktop Viewer. The systems running on the charts are operating normally (as if chart has progressed normally) however when I view the chart, it takes a few seconds (5-15 seconds) to update to current and in some instances will refuse to update to current until I F5.

    While functionally it doesn't seem to be impactful however it is a bit annoying to have to force an update to see chart progression.

    The server load is quite low at <10% CPU usage when this occurs and the frequency of occurrence is 100% after some time minimized.

    Hello captfill,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

    Just to clarify, when you say a 'minimized position', are you referring to minimizing a window with the VPS environment or do you mean that it occurs when you minimize the entire Windows RDP application your PC? Do you know if the VPS goes to sleep or in power saving mode at all when it's minimized?

    As a test, will you see if this also happens in Safe Mode?

    Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
    • Loading workspaces.
    • Connecting on start-up.
    • Loading custom assemblies.
    • Getting instrument updates from the server.
    To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:
    • Exit NinjaTrader.
    • Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
    • Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
    • You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.
    Once you have opened the platform in safe mode:
    • Reconnect to your data provider from the 'Connections' menu
    • Please open a new chart with no custom bar types/indicators/templates and test for issues.
    • Minimize your RDP app and then restore it and see if the issue persists
      • Please note this will not delete your workspace however the new blank workspace will be named Untitled. If you have a workspace already named "Untitled," however, you will not want to save the workspace when exiting NinjaTrader, otherwise, it will overwrite it.
