same computer NT 7 and NT 8

Hello,

can I run NinjaTrader 7 with Interactive Brokers and NinjaTrader 8 with CQG at the same time on one computer?
Can there be problems.

Thank you for the message.

Interactive Brokers is no longer supported as a connection on the NinjaTrader 7 platform so it will not be possible for you to use the NinjaTrader 7 platform with Interactive Brokers.

• If you have a Multibroker License that was grandfathered in to be enabled for CQG and Interactive Brokers, then you could technically connect to both accounts within the same NinjaTrader 8 Platform.

CQG is still supported within NinjaTrader 7 if your License Key has been grandfathered in to include CQG as a connection type.

It is possible to have both NinjaTrader 7 and NinjaTrader 8 open on the same computer and connected to an account.

Your biggest adversary will be computer resources and processing power.

• Both NinjaTrader 7 and NinjaTrader 8 can be very resource demanding programs.
• If you have them both running at the same time, they could start fighting for resources and result in delays, freezing, and other unwanted behaviors.

So, you are welcome to try it, but if you experience any freezing or unwanted behaviors, the first answer will be to close the other NinjaTrader platform and see if the unwanted behaviors stop.

• If yes, then you know your computer cannot handle running both platforms at the same time and you would want to run the 2nd platform on a 2nd computer so they can each have full access to the computer's resources.
