    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

The trades shown on the chart are labeled as External trades meaning they were placed using a different method than NinjaTrader and were downloaded at the time of your connection.

If you would like to disable this you may go to the Data Series menu, scroll all the way down on the right side to where you see plot executions, change the setting to Do Not Plot and it will remove the external trade markers.

Please let us know if we may assist further.

      thanks justin,

i'm still unclear about what the method could be and where it could have come from?
... is ''method'' the generic ''tactic'', or does it have a c# programming meaning?

if a c# programming meaning, in this case does it merely mean some other strategy?

if a strategy, is there a way to identify the strategy ... or more generally identify whatever the External entity is?

        Hello joemiller,
Normally External orders can occur in a few different ways.
        Commonly External Orders appear from:
        - NinjaTrader being closed while your orders fill on your Brokerages side.
        - The orders were submitted on another instance of NinjaTrader and the account update was received on a different instance of NinjaTrader.
        - Your Brokerage managed the position.

changing the setting to ''Do Not Plot'' does not remove the external trade markers permanently [i.e.] how can i get rid of the markers permanently [i.e.] it doesn't make sense to my that there should be any markers on a plain vanilla chart with no strategies
or indicators. why are they even there to begin with?

            Hello Joe,
Thank you for your response. The External tag is saved within your trade history and can not be changed. This tag is how the order was reported to NinjaTrader at the time. Changing the "DoNotPlot" for execution plots will only remove the trade data on the chart.
