    Compatibility with Jing

Jing (for screenshots) (https://www.techsmith.com/jing.html) seems to freeze when used with NT8.
Our company has used it heavily for years in developing ninjatrader indicators, but without jing we're finding it difficult now to markup charts for feedback to developers. Any suggestions?

I've only had issues in 4k with external monitor on (dell u3415w).

I posted once to their msg board. I doubt any one cared.

Have recently done several descriptive videos about items in NT8 captured with SnagIt (rather than Jing)...then uploading to Screencast is very easy to do directly from SnagIt. Have posted Screencast links on the forum here & they worked great.

Just did a test screen shot of an NT8 Ninja chart with SnagIt and uploaded it easily to Screencast with one click from SnagIt. And it is easy to annotate screenshots of charts (text, arrows colors etc.) in the SnagIt editor window before uploading to Screencast.
Screencast seems to be in the process of revising their site.

Screencast and SnagIt are a very useful combination.....

        Hello bboyle1234,

While I am not able to reproduce this behavior, on my machine or any others that I work on, I have heard reports of this from other Jing users.

        One thing to check:
        Do you have multiple monitors?
What are your DPI (text size) settings?
If you set this down to 100% for all monitors, are you still getting the same behavior?

          Hi ChelseaB,
I don't have the issue myself (I work from a laptop with a single monitor, and use Snagit instead of Jing), but I have asked the people having the problem to reply to this thread.

computer freezing when using Jing with NT8

I have 4 monitors with screen resolution of 2560 x 1080 which is the default recommended resolution. I have had no issues with NT7 ever, but nearly every time I go into 8 and connect live feed, when I try to capture a screenshot with JING my entire computer freezes. It goes into a white screen. It is not quite so consistent to freeze if I disconnect the feed from 8 first, but it happens on occasion. This does not happen with the Snaggit version of this Techsmith software. Unfortunately, most of our traders use the Jing version.

              Hello bboyle1234,

I just want to confirm, changing the DPI settings to 100% did not correct the behavior, is this correct?

The DPI has always been at 100%, so yes, confirmation.
