Distribution Procedure

Hi,

Now that is it possible to create templates for indicators and strategies...
...is it possible to export and distribute an assembly with them ?

I mean, we can currently include chart templates if we add /templates/chart to the zip file
Can we ( or may ask it as a new feature ) to be able to also include

• templates/Strategy/etc
• templates/Indicator/etc

There's not currently away to to add them to the assembly outside of the manual process you mention. I will certainly forward a note to our Development team for future feature consideration.

So, you mean that currently it is manually possible ?
I mean , can we add to the zip the mentioned folders including indicators/strategy name and corresponding templates names inside ?
Like this ;
templates/Strategy/Strategy_one/template_1
templates/Strategy/Strategy_one/template_2
templates/Strategy/Strategy_two/template_1
templates/Strategy/Strategy_two/template_2
templates/Indicator/Indicator_one/template_one
templates/Indicator/Indicator_two/template_two

..and when the user install the module will those folder be created with its corresponding templates located inside ?

On Ninjatrader 7 the strategies did not had templates

Yes, sorry I made an error earlier.

In NinjaTrader 8 you can include the templates in the archive and they will be automatically added on import.

Make sure, when adding the templates to the archive, you first create a "templates" folder to house the various "Chart" or "Strategy" sub folders that contain the .XML template files themselves.

In NinjaTrader 7, they had to be manually added.

I tested it and works perfect ; when the user installs the module all the included templates folders are created if needed and each template placed in the corresponding folder.

It would be great if you add this option to indicators too, so the user can customize its indicator settings and also the vendor can distribute example templates for indicators.
