What became of the label/help text indicator panel?
In NT7 there was a panel in the lower right corner of the indicator settings for help/explanations of the indicators parameters.
What became of that in NT8, it seems to be gone?Tags: None

ok, so there is still a help text describing the indicator, but what about the parameters? Thats really what bothers me more, to be honest.

Thank you for your post,
I've copied below the section of our help guide that covers Indicator parameters.
See "How to edit an indicator's parameters"

We look forward to assisting further.Eric B.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Eric, how's that supposed to help?
I've asked about the help text panel, oviously that has been removed with version 8.
Here's what i liked about it:
Individual indicators could display help text in that panel in regards to the parameter being edited.
For example, have a look at the popular dValueArea indicator, it has a lot not so obvious options, like:
...
[Description("Minimum Slot Thickness (-1 - 50) (0 = Auto) (-1 = Separated Auto)")]
[Category("Display Settings")]
[Gui.Design.DisplayName ("\t\t\t\t\tSlot Min. Height")]
...
or
[Description("Evolving Text Position. Shift left edge x-Bars from last bar (+-100, Neg=toLeft, Pos=toRight)")]
[Category("Display Settings")]
[Gui.Design.DisplayName ("\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tE-Text Position")]
public int EtPosition
and so on. So in Ninja 7 the "Description" would be displayed in the lower right panel. This feature has unfortunaltely disappeared.
It would be great to have this back!

I noticed the change but have been fighting other fires. I second any vote for getting the feature put back in. If you have a strategy or indicator when a lot of inputs its absolutely necessary even if you wrote the code yourself to be able to remind yourself which input is what. Naming them as explicitly as possible only goes so far. With NT8 there are other things that you have to ask yourself, why did they change this but then you realize if they couldn't copy the NT7 code because the implementation had changed so radically and maybe a lot of the smaller items like this were just either overlooked or glossed over to get NT8 out the door. Only time will tell.

Two ways to see information about an indicator and its properties:
1. Select an indicator in the "Available" list and click the little i on the upper right corner of the list.
2. After adding an indicator to the "Configured" list, hover your mouse over a parameter name to see its description, if any exists.
