    Range Bar chart doesn't show gaps

    Hi

    Why does NT8 plot phantom bars on the range charts to cover gaps?

    This only seems to happen on range charts - the other chart type will show the gap.

    There is a perfect example of this from the CL market after it gapped up $1 on Sunday night.

    It is clear these bars are phantom bars because they have no data attached to them so what is the point of plotting them. Most other trading platforms show the gap on range charts.

    Is there a way to get NT to show the gaps for range charts?

    Thanks for your post.

    Who are you connected to? This is displayed by green on lower left corner of the Control Center window.

    Do you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?

      Hello

      I am connected to CQG data (demo feed)

      There are no errors on screen or in the log tab.

      The first few times I opened a range chart in NT it was showing the gaps but then soon after it started plotting these phantom bars and now I can't get NT to stop doing it.

        So that I may investigate I would ask that you contact me by email at PlatformSupport [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com. In your message please include a link to this forum thread and a copy of today's trace files. You will find these diagnostic file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > Trace folder. I will need to review a copy of the files which are named 'trace.20161218.XXXXX.txt'. There will likely be multiple files for each day.
