Minor issue - Dates overlapping

Hi

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a bug but why do the dates sometimes overlap - as seen in the image. Can this be fixed as it makes it hard to tell what the date is?

I wanted to reply back on this item.

I tried to create a 5000 volume chart as you have and tried to replicate the look but there may be other factors controlling this.

Could you provide a workspace that contains this chart for me to review further?

You can save the chart in a workspace by its self and then provide the .xml file for that workspace which can be found in the folder: Documents\NinjaTrader 8\workspaces

I tested in replay. I downloaded replay data in NT8 for CL 01-17 (12/9-12/20), and did playback in 5000 volume CL chart.

Dec 11 was Sunday, and there wasn't much volume on Monday DEC 19.

Sunday DEC 18 appears to have been wrapped into DEC 15 or DEC 19, there wasn't enough volume for 5000 Volume chart. (Or else it was discarded).

A 1000 volume chart show 12/18-12/19 overlap as bars are now made for 12/18.

I guess I don't see much of an issue, there's really no space to print the date. Maybe more better to have newer date, Dec19 over ride completely the previous day Dec18, if possible. I wonder what NT7 did.

I have attached my workspace - anytime I open up the CL 5000 volume chart I see the overlapping dates.

As sledge noted it's not a major issue but it looks messy. NT7 had the same issue.

I like the suggestion of having the new date override the old one - that should work.

Thank you for providing the workspace.

I was able to see this as well and have provided it to development for further review. This could potentially be expected due to the lack of volume during this time as each day is marked at that compression level. As sledge noted potentially there are better ways to handle this as well so development will need to confirm.
