    Drawing Tool Line Bug

    Using NT 8.0.2.0 64 bit
At 9:20 AM ET, using chart session "CME US Index Futures ETH", I draw a line on an ES 5 minute chart approximately from the prior day session start to the current bar. I then edit the line properties as follows:
    1. change color to "green"
change the line type to dash
change the start Y and end Y equal so line is horizontal
change the start time to 9:30 AM of the prior day and end time to 10:00 AM of the current day (note that the end time is in the future there are no bars yet on the chart past 9:20 AM).
save the settings to default template

After pressing OK, the line appears as it should on the chart.
Now change the session to CME US Index Futures RTH.
As the RTH session progresses past 10:00 AM, the line continues to grow with the chart time.
Bug: Check the line properties and see the end time has changed.

The origonal line properties are being changed. I think it has to do with the line extending into the future and the session change ETH to RTH.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your note.

I do not see the same on my end, but I did not get to test until now in the evening. Does this ever occur at any time other than in the morning?

Are you able to try on 3 charts tomorrow?

      1 you switch like above.
      1 in ETH (don't switch).
      1 in RTH (don't switch).

      Should eliminate/confirm the theory.

Would another RTH to ETH chart switch make sense?

I have only edited the lines it in the morning before the RTH opens, and examined the line properties after the RTH closes. The problem occurs every time. It is repeatable.

Yes that is a good test. I will try not switching and see what happens.

            Hello,

            Thanks for your reply.

I will test this matter further and follow up with my findings.

              I did some more testing:

              Test 1:
At midnight last night I drew a line on a RTH chart and set the end time to 10:00 AM which was beyond the right chart margin.
At 10:05 AM next day the line was correct. The line property "End Time" was still 10:00 AM and the line indeed ends at 10:00 AM.

              Test 2:
Same as Test 1 but on a ETH chart.
Same result. The line displayed correctly as originally drawn ending at 10:00 AM. Line properties unchanged.

              Test 3:
              1. At 9:25 AM, change session from RTH to ETH on a 5 minute ES chart.
              2. Drag existing lines from yesterdays High and Low and the overnight high and low to new approximate positions.
              3. Edit the "End Times" to 01/04/2017 10:00:00 AM.
              4. Change session from ETH to RTH.
              5. At 10:05 I examined the line properties and the End Time had changed to 01/24/2017 02:20:00 PM. The line property date and time had changed.

              Conclusion:
Changing from RTH to ETH and back again is altering the End Times.

                Hello,

We have not been able to replicate this on our end in the mornings so far. However, we will continue to test. There was known item regarding drawing objects drawn in the future changing data when the "Days to Load" setting was altered, so this may be along the lines of that item.

I'm happy to attempt to reproduce the other tests, to clarify, did these all occur at midnight? What time zone would this be in reference to?
