Regression Channel Chart Drawing Tool Questions

The seven regression Channel Drawing Tool parameters are:

close, high, low, median, open, typical, weighted

1] what are the definitions of median, typical and weighted?

2] when I choose median the regression channel drawing disappears from the chart.
Is this possibly a bug? Please advise.

    I am using NinjaTrader 8.

    Price series are defined here:

When I choose 'median' for my regression channel, it 'disappears' but this is because the object has moved due to this new setting and is now outside of the auto-scale view of my chart. I res-scaled my chart and the object was present above the data in my case:

Is this the same thing you observe? You can always check was objects are applied to your chart by clicking on the drawing tools icon > Drawing objects... > Choose the object > expand the data section and look at it's Y coordinate.

NO I DON'T SEE IT DISPLACED

I CAN'T CHOOSE THE OBJECT BECAUSE IT HAS DISAPPEARED FROM THE CHART SO I CAN'T CLICK ON IT TO CHOOSE IT.

        Please follow these steps:
        • Open a new chart window with your instrument of choice
        • Draw a regression channel making sure to leave all settings as default
        • (most importantly: Price type = close)
        • Go to Drawing Tools > Drawing objects
        • Position the drawing objects window on your chart so that you can also see the regression channel
        • Here is an example: https://www.screencast.com/t/j0WoufYjbUnh
        • Change the 'Price type' to 'Median' and click APPLY (DO NOT click OK)

Does the regression channel still exist in the drawing objects window? If so, please proceed:

If you navigate to the prices mentioned in the Y values, do you see the drawing object?

I see in your screenshot that the drawing tool does still exist in the Drawing Tools list (Regression channel 13 in the 'configured' list), but judging by the Y values it should be apparent on your chart.

            This is unexpected.

Please send me your log and trace files so that I may look into what occurred.

You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.
