    Cannot import historical data

    Hello.

I'm trying to import historical data for FDAX from TickData, using the same txt file that I used successfully in Ninjatrader 7.

Can you please tell me if there are any differences between both platforms for importing data?

    I send some attachments.

    Thank you.

    Hello deltaleonis,

Manually importing historical data in NinjaTrader 8 is similar to NinjaTrader 7. Please see the link below.

What name does the .txt file have which you are trying to import?

In addition, please tell me what NinjaTrader 8 version you have installed. You can check this at Control Center-->Help-->About (8.0.x.x).

Thank you for your fast reply.

The file name is FDAX 03-17.Last.txt

      Ninjatrader 8 version is 8.0.3.1 64-bit (Standard)

      Thank you.

        Thank you for clarifying.

Can you please send me part of the .txt file so I can test it on my end. You can send it to platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com. Please put 'Att Jason, 1649084' in the subject header.

            Solved

I could solve that exporting the same data from Ninjatrader 7.

            Thank you.

Imported data doesn't show in NT8

              Hi

I've tried to import some historical data and it also seems as if it does so successfully. But when I load a new chart its the old historical data that show and not the imported data.

I can't seem to see what I'm doing wrong.

              Can you please help

              Best regards

                Hello The_Wiz,

Can you please shut down NinjaTrader and navigate to the location below.

                Windows start menu-->Documents-->NinjaTrader 8-->db

Delete the cache folder that is within the db folder.

The cache folder is used to quickly load data in chart windows - the actual data is saved in the tick, minute and day folders. The first time you load data after deleting the db-->cache folder, it will take a little longer to load than usual. Once all data is loaded, it will load data quickly again.

Start NinjaTrader and check if the chart shows the imported data. If not, please go to Control Center-->Tools-->Historical Data-->Edit-tab and check if you see the imported historical data there.

                  Hi

I tried deleting the cache and it didn't help. And if I go to the Historical data under tools and look under the Edit-tab, then there is only the old historical data and not the imported historical data.

If you try the import again, do you see the historical data in the Historical Data-->Edit-tab?

Can you please send me part of the .txt file you import in NinjaTrader. You can send it to platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com. Please put 'Att Jason, 1649084' in the subject header.

For what dates do you have historical data present and for what dates do you import historical data?

                        Hello Elamparithi,

Can you please follow the steps below to send your log and trace files so I may investigate this matter further.
                        • Open Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to, "Documents" (sometimes called, "My Documents") > 'NinjaTrader 8' folder
                        • Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
                        • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to "platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com".
                        • Put 'Att Jason, 2875972' in the subject field of the email.
                        • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
Thanks in advance; I look forward to resolving this item.
