    FXCM weekend connection loss

    I have found the last 2 weekends that FXCM does not reconnect after the weekend.
    is there a setting I have missed?

    Thank you for your post,

    What is the message you receive from the disconnect, and what message is shown when attempting to reconnect?

    I'm not familiar with a reason you wouldn't be able to reconnect, though some data providers do perform weekend maintenance which causes the connection to be temporarily unusable.

      2017-02-03 19:10:23:342|1|2|FXCM: Primary connection=Connection lost, Price feed=Connection lost.

      The connection lost is expected as the market is closed.

      Previously FXCM would reconnect on its own... and strategies would be re-enabled.

      The last 2 opens (Sunday afternoon) NT has failed to reconnect to FXCM.

          Please write into to PlatformSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]Com along with your log and trace files and a link to this forum post.

          Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your response.

          Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
          Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
          Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
          Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

                  FXCM closes its connection on the weekend. When it reopens only the price data reconnects, the connection to FXCM orders doesn't reconnect and orders fail to process.

                    Hello radicaltrader,

                    You would need to manually disconnect and reconnect the connection to FXCM within your installation of NinjaTrader to restore connection to the orders server. To ensure the best connection stability, we would recommend restarting the NinjaTrader platform on a daily basis.

                      I have had no stability problems during the week since the new FXCM api was introduced with 8.0.3.
                      The only issue is the reconnection after weekend.

                      the reconnection problem has only appeared since 8.0.3

                        Hello radicaltrader,

                        The resolution remains the same: you would need to manually disconnect/reconnect your FXCM account within NinjaTrader to restore connection to the FXCM data server after their weekend reset.

                          is there a way to keep my active strategies running with a connection reconnect...

                          I don't trust brokers so I don't like keeping my active orders with the broker.

                              I have the same issue on this matter. Is their allready a solution to keep my active strategies running with a connection reconnect after the weekend?
