Historical Data Server connection issues after upgrade to 8.0.4

    Historical Data Server connection issues after upgrade to 8.0.4

    Hello,
    i have just upgraded to the latest 8.0.4.0 version.
    Now i cant seem to get a stable connection to the HDS historical data server, it keeps reconnecting all the time.
    Please advise

    Hello toulouse-lautrec,

    I do not experience the continuous disconnections on my end with hds-us-001 nor have I seen reports from other clients so far. I suggest to try a reset of your modem/router first and check if you remain connected.

    Are you wireless connected? If so, please hard wire your computer to your modem/router if possible.

    How many devices do you have connected to your modem/router? Are you able to remain connected if less devices are connected to your modem/router?

      The issue seems to have disappeared in the mean time.

      Jason, thanks for trying to help, but your conclusions don't make sense to me. Would there be an issue on my end (Router, Cable, etc) then both historical and datafeed would be affected by it, since these are on different servers, wouldn't they?

      On a related note, is there only one HDS server or is this connection being load balanced?

        There are multiple historical data servers. There was no issue with historical data server (hds1) itself or else there would have been multiple reports. It seems the issue only affected your connection with the historical data server. If the continuous disconnections recur, please let me know.

          Question: Why doesn't NT alternate between those multiple HDS servers in case of connection issues?
          Alternatively, is there a way to influence to which one it connects?

            Different historical data servers are used for different broker technology connections and different NinjaTrader versions (7 and 8). Unfortunately you cannot determine to what historical data server you connect.
