    regarding the ''NinjaTrader 8.0.4.0 Released'' announcement yesterday .....

    what action now, if any, should i take?

    Check your version by going to Help > About. If you are not using 8.0.4.0 then you are on a previous version and we recommend an upgrade.

    You can see the changes in this version in the release notes:



    To upgrade NinjaTrader, please follow the steps below.
    • First get your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
    • Click on the link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
    • Enter your license key and press Submit
    • Select 'NinjaTrader 8'
    • Select 'Download'
    • Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.

      I'm currently using 8.0.2.0.

      Tried to unwrap this latest update. After about 1 minute, it simply rolls itself back and gives me an error that it can't continue with the new update.

      Any suggestions?

        NT8.0.4.0 - Simantec Not Install - Sollution

        As 8.0.4.0 version is new Simantec Norton has no risc historic and deletes install software immediately after it is download. Solution is the same as for NT8.0.3 :

        Open Norton ==> Click on Security, then Advanced Icon.

        When it opens go to the last item "Download Information" turn it OFF (default is 15 min, enough to install NT 8.0.4.0).

        Download NT8.0.4.0 install software.

        After install, open NT8, conect your data provider, open any window just to test it. If not doing that when you turn Norton on again, probably it will erase NT8, as happened before with NT8.0.3.

        If it is all OK, turn "Download info" On again.

        And enjoy discovering NT8.0.4.0.

          Thank you, sir.

          Unfortunately, I don't have Norton installed?

          I use Avast and had it shut off.

          Windows 10 asks if I want to proceed and I check yes button.

          Any other suggestions?

            Please try using the Microsoft Fix It tool:

            The Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter helps you automatically repair issues when you're blocked from installing or removing programs.


            After using the tool, try the installation once again.

              Mr. llupus was on the right track. I uninstalled Avast and then was able to download the new update.

                download was successful.
                however connection is to both sim and real accounts [see attachment]. don't remember
                it being that way on the old version. want to be sure i am sending orders only to
                the sim account.

                please advise.

                  This is expected when you connect to a live account and have a live license key entered under Help > License Key.

                  To prevent accidental live trades, please make sure to enable 'global simulation mode' in the Control Center under 'Tools'.
