Error in Opening Kinetick, exception caught and other issues with NT8

    Hi
I have couple of issues I am listing below. I am connecting to Kinetick first and then IB. I run one strategy which passes orders to my paper trading account on IB. At the same time I test some strategies on Sim01 account. Some problemes I have
1- If I remove all strategies running on Sim01 account and cancel their orders, it appears they continue running behind the scene as later on I receive error messages in the log file related to them. Also I have orders that are generated by the removed strategy. How is that possible? In the tab stratgies, I don't have them anymore.

For example I have these types of errors
a)Strategy "xxx" lost price connection for more than 10 seconds and will be started. However that strategy is no more activated , nor present on the strategies tab.
    b) : Error on calling 'OnBarUpdate' method on bar 2392217: You are accessing an index with a value that is invalid since it is out-of-range. I.E. accessing a series [barsAgo] with a value of 5 when there are only 4 bars on the chart.

Again there is no chart anymore, no strategy so I dont see why these ghost stratgies continue running.

2- I use StartBehavior.ImmediatelySubmit and when IB updates its server, my strategy running on my IB account, seems to have trouble reconnecting. And apparently tries to cancel out orders it has generated himself (Unable to cancel out live orders. Strategy 'xxx' was not started.) Why this strategy once reconnected again to IB tries to cancel its own orders?

My question is what option to take, so that after an update of IB, the strategy reconnects as nothing has happened?

3- Finally, when I disconnect from both IB and Kinetick, and try to connect again, I receive
    a) Error in opening connection Kinetick, exception caught. One or more errors occured (Panic)
b ) for IB, when I reconnect, I receive Primary connection = connected and Price Feed connected. Still the connection circle at the bottom left is yellow and says no connection.

Happy to share my log if needed. Looking forward to having a help on this

    Thanks

    Hello jakjak74,
    Thank you for posting.

I wasn't able to tell, are you currently using the most recent version of the platform? Could you check the Help -> About and ensure you are on the 8.0.5.2?

Regarding your first item, is this while using a custom strategy or can you confirm this is happening with the included items like the SampleMACrossOver? If you have not tested one of the included samples to see if it has the same action, could you do this, please?
The errors you are showing are two separate items, one is related to your connection and the second is related to the logic of the script. Both cases should not happen if the script was disabled and removed, though, so I believe we would need to test further to see what is happening for this item.

For your second item, if the script is being disabled and you have Cancel Entry or Cancel Exit orders when strategy disables it should try to cancel any existing orders. Can you tell me what you currently have set in the Tools -> Options -> Strategies tab for these two options? This could also be due to the logic of the script as well. If the script needs to recalculate the orders it had previously produced it would need to accurately recreate these orders when it recalculates otherwise, they would not be remapped. You can find more about this topic here: http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...hlightsub=sync

As for the third item, can you tell me which version of IB you are currently using to connect? Are you using the TWS client or the Gateway, also which version?

I look forward to being of further assistance.

      Thanks. No I had 8.0.1.0 64-bit (Multi-Broker), how can I update please?

Regarding the 2nd issue, I was using a custom strategy. Maybe I give a try with the new version and let you know after the update.
I didnt want to cancel any existing orders. Besides these 2 options Cancel Entry or Cancel Exit are not taken in my settings.
I was using TWS version 964.1b, I have downgraded now to 960.2g and will try with this.
      thanks for your help

        Hello jakjak74,

You can update using the NinjaTrader.com website, please visit http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect and enter your license key or simulation license key to download the update.

It seems there were a few mismatches here so I would appreciate it if you could update and re-test. There have been many changes since 8.0.1.0 so it is very likely you will see different results in the latest build.

I look forward to being of further assistance.
