    Z Order

    For the latest iteration of NT 8, I held down the shift key after selecting the candle and then scrolled using the mouse wheel, but the candles did not change.

    Please advise.

    Do you have multiple objects on the chart (such as an indicator)?

    Are you scrolling the mouse scroll wheel both up and down while holding shift and not seeing any change?

      Yes, I scrolled up and down while holding the shift key and nothing changed

          Z order with shift key and mouse wheel doens't work on mine either.
          Version number 8.0.16.3

          Is there anyway I can rearrange the order in the back end?

            Hello,

            Thank you for writing in.

            Glad to assist. There is not an additional supported method to alter z-order. Testing on my end with the updated version, z-order is working as expected - to test, try opening a new chart and adding indicators to test for issue.

            If you still see the same, please write into to PlatformSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]Com along with your log and trace files and a link to this forum post.


            Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your response so I may investigate this matter further.
            • Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
            • Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
            • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
            • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

              is the highest number on top or on bottom? i'm trying it on draw object (drawn by strategy) and it is still way in the back no matter what the number I shift wheel to

                Hello NinjaCustomer,

                The smallest number ZOrder when using shift + middle mouse wheel when selecting a chart object will be the front most while the largest number will be back most.

                Could you attach an example script showing how you are drawing the object and displays the behavior you are witnessing when changing an objects ZOrder? Please attach a simple example similar to the test script attached so we can see what you are running into.

                  I forget which chart that was.. on other charts with the same template, i was able to manipulate the indicators overlapping it's z-order to get it to the front. But when I posted I was having a problem doing it on that chart, but really I can't remember which tab that was and the strategy is no longer running.

                    We will really need a specific case that we can test to observe the behavior you are and to comment further.
