Right click to set default values

Hi,

In NT7, in strategies tab, we could right-click to set default values - for example, we could select an account from drop-down, and right click to set that as default for a given strategy

In NT8, is there a way to set default values for a given strategy
Or if not, is it possible to set this default (account etc) in ninjascript itself

This process still exists but has been expanded to include multiple templates including a Default template.

When configuring the strategy, look in the lower right of the window and you should see "Preset", it will be at the bottom of the properties list on the right.

You can choose to Save or Load templates, a template that is named Default will be loaded automatically if it exists.

Thank you again for your reply.

For some reason, Account is not getting saved as default template - so every time, I try to start a strategy, I have to change account from Sim to trading account

I didn't find a Present link at bottom right, just found "Template" link- is it because of version I am using.

Thank you for the reply.

The account specifically is not saved in the template, only the properties of the strategy would be saved. When creating a new instance of a strategy you should need to select the appropriate account before enabling it.

For strategies that you have already configured, if you save the workspace the account would be saved as well with the instance.

The "Template" would be correct also, I had mistyped and used the term "preset" which is also used in the platform for similar purposes on other types.

If possible at all, could you kindly put it as a feature request - in addition to template idea, "To still allow right-click to save default values for a strategy (as it was in NT7)"

The justification for this feature request -
most users run the same strategy for list of multiple instruments

- in NT7, this would require just 1 click (basically set and forget)

- in NT8, this requires 1000+ clicks over time (in NT8, we need to repeatedly select account, or template etc each time we start same strategy for a new instrument)
