    Market Analyzer hanging/crashing

    Hi Support,

    Please can you advise what the attached orange and red error messages mean/suggest?

    Also attached log file and trace file

    "Unable to write cache data"

    and

    "Failed to call 'Add' method: System.Threading.LockRecursionException: Write lock may not be acquired with read lock held. This pattern is prone to deadlocks. Please ensure that read locks are released before taking a write lock. If an upgrade is necessary, use an upgrade lock in place of the read lock. at System.Threading.ReaderWriterLockSlim.TryEnterWrit eLockCore(TimeoutTracker timeout) at system.Threading.ReaderWriterLockSlim.TryEnterWrit eLock(TimeoutTracker timeout) at NinjaTrader.Data.BarsSeries.Add(Bars bars, Double open, Double high, Double low, Double close, DateTime time, Int64 volume, Double tickSize, Boolean isBar, Double bid, Double ask)"

    Thank you for your post,

    So we can further diagnose your system, can you please let me know if you see the same errors when lanching in Safe Mode?

    Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:

    Loading workspaces.
    Connecting on start-up.
    Loading custom assemblies.
    Getting instrument updates from the server.

    To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:

    Exit NinjaTrader.
    Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
    Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
    You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.

    Try connecting and opening a new Marker Analyzer window via the nNw menu, add the columns present in your saved workspace.

    If there are no issues in Safe Mode, shut down and launch normally. If this reintroduces issues, I would suggest rebuilding your workspace, adding 1 indicator at a time. Please keep track of what indicators you add back in so that we can narrow down what indicator is causing the issue if the issue returns. I also suggest making a backup of your workspace so we can restore a backup if the issue returns well (Tools > Export).

        Hello,

        Thank you for the advice but the Market Analyzer Column in question is a custom built column that is no longer showing in the list of Market Analyzer Columns while in Safe Mode?

        A programmer recently built it for me. Could this be the problem? How would I tell this is causing the problem?

          Thank you for your reply,

          In order to narrow the issue, launch normally then close all saved workspace via the workspaces menu.

          In a new, blank workspace, try creating the Market Analyzer with only this custom column added. If this reintroduces issues, you'll need to report the issue to the vendor to look into further.
