    NT 8 x64 and the following attached message

    Hi All,

    when I start NT 8 while it is trying to connect to data feed, sometimes I get the following message shown in the attached image

    Do I have to perform some specific setting into my pc or in NT 8 x64 setup menu ?

    What version of NinjaTrader is installed? This is found at Help > About.

    Can you also let me know if you see the same when launched in Safe Mode?

    Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:

    Loading workspaces.
    Connecting on start-up.
    Loading custom assemblies.
    Getting instrument updates from the server.
    To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:

    Exit NinjaTrader.
    Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
    Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
    You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.

      Alinghy,

      This message means that when NinjaTrader tried to clear the cache which it does as data is reloaded, it could not do so. The cache is located in My Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > db > cache folder and is a set of files located in that directory. The error could be due to some other application such as a data backup app like dropbox or one drive accessing the file while NinjaTrader tries to delete it and therefore cannot delete. Could also be caused by an anti-virus scan working in the directory when this happens.

      If none of these things are ongoing and the error is reproducible then there is a third possibility which is a NinjaTrader bug, since NinjaTrader is multi-threaded then the problem actually could be due to two different threads trying to read/clear the cache at the same time. We would want to understand what is going on in this scanerio.

      Have you hit the message only once or with any regularity? When you hit it what were you doing? Was NinjaTrader starting up or did you just connect? Finally, what anti-virus and backup software do you have installed and utilize that could be locking files? Thanks for any additional information.

        Thanks first for all the robust contribution,

        yes, this is my second pc where I have Acronis True Image 2017 new generation and Trend Micro Maximum Security (really a light and efficient software) and also a cloud service Jottacloud (Norway) , so maybe all your considerations are right, also because this thing not always happens but sometimes, therefore I will check if something is running in the meanwhile .

        My licence, I am owner of a life time, is on the master pc and here I am using the following
        8.0.6.1 64-bit (Multi-Broker)
