Price delta to SMA in percent

Hi,

I've tried to use PPO, MACD to show delta to price but can not get it to show correct output. On stockcharts or TradingView I can get it working with setting PPO or MACD with values of 1,20,1 for delta in % to MA20.

In Ninja when I set the same values, it doesn't give me the same/correct output. As an example, in some occasions I get a discrepancy between price MA and the oscillator output.

Would it be possible to double check the calculations? The discrepancy seems to be very small but the difference is annoying and needs to be taken into consideration when doing strategies == more room for human logical errors.

Hello Chris,

Yes, you can view the code and calculations for the PPO and MACD indicators in the NinjaScript Editor.

• Click New -> NinjaScript Editor
• On the right in the script explorer pane, double click to expand Indicators
• Double click PPO to open this indicator and double click on MACD.
• These will open in tabs in the NinjaScript Editor.

These are using the same logic and calculations as NinjaTrader 7.

If you would like to submit an alternate set of logic (code or calculations in pseudo code meaning logic written with words) for either indicator I would be happy to submit this as a feature request to our development to consider implementing in a future version of NinjaTrader. Please let me know if you would like to submit different logic and request for our development to consider implementing this.
