I had this problem happen on my laptop, with NT8, now it has occurred on my PC, but the problem is harder to fix.
I launched NT8 on my PC, then all of a sudden it crashed before even displaying my charts. Then my Malwarebytes software popped up a message saying that it had blocked Ransomware.
I went into the Quarantine area of the software to try to remove NT8, but it was not there; my Quarantine is empty.
I also checked my Exclusion settings in the software and I had already added the following exclusion paths for NT8:
C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 8
C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\NinjaTrader 8
C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 8\bin64\NinjaTrader.exe {Application Web Process}
I then tried to reinstall NT8 and got the following error message:
Error writing to file: C:\Program Files(x86)\NinjaTrader 8\bin64\NinjaTrader.exe. Verify that you have access to that directory.
Screenshot attached.
Note: Before launching NT8 this morning I went into the NinjaTrader 8 folder and unchecked 'Read-only', as I was instructed to do by NT support to handle a crashing problem.
What do I need to do to get NT8 to work again and to prevent this problem from preventing me from trading in the future?
