Using NT to route orders from TradeStation to InteractiveBrokers

I am running TradeStation 9.5 with several automated strategies and want to route orders to 1 or more accounts at InteractiveBrokers.

    Two questions:

    1. Does anyone have experience using NT 8 for this? Has it been a stable environment?

    2. Can NT 8 route orders from TradeStation strategies to multiple IB accounts? Or can it only handle one account?

    Hello Risingfire,

I’m unaware of stability issues while using trade station with NT8.

You would be able to have Trade Station submit orders to NT for which will be executed on different IB accounts. You would want to read the following section of our helpguide on workspace options.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you! That's very helpful and looks extremely encouraging.

A few other questions I could not answer from the help file:

      1. While all my strategies are automated, on occasion I will manually open or close positions. Can I manually do this in TradeStation, or would I have to do this via NT or IB?

      2. I have a real-time data feed from TradeStation. Do you know if I will also need a real-time data feed at IB? Or is just routing the order to the IB account sufficient? I would rather not have to pay for two data feeds if I don't have to.

      3. Is there a fixed upper limit to the number of IB accounts I can trade?

      4. Does NT cost more to trade multiple accounts, or is this included in the base subscription cost?

        Hello Risingfire,

You would not be able to have manual trades placed in TS routed to NT.

You would not need to pay for data with IB if you got it through TS or NT.

I am unaware of any limits for how many different IB accounts you could have NT orders routed to.
Regarding your question about cost of trading multiple accounts, please send an email to platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com with Attn: Alan P in the Subject line. Also within the email please include a link to this thread.

I look forward to your email.

            Hi Alan,

I installed NT8 to test the routing function from TradeStation to InteractiveBrokers, but all the documentation for routing TS orders is written for NT7. Is it possible to use NT8 to route orders, or do I need to install NT7 for this?

If it is possible to use NT8, could you refer me to the correct setup documentation?

            Thanks!

Also, just in case this makes a difference, I will be routing orders from TradeStation to several IB accounts, which are sub-accounts managed by a master "Family and Friends" IB account.

Will routing work the same as it would for regular accounts? Does this make a difference in what version of NT I use?

                Hello Risingfire,

Yes, you would be able to route orders from TS to NT to IB like you can in NT7.

Please see the following link to our helpguide,

Is it possible to send order of options from tradestation to IB through NT 7.0?
I have sent data of options from TS to NT by removing the space from option symbols of TS, and then insert them to NT. It works well.

                  Thanks,

                    Hello ccl3093,

                    Thank you for your note.

This would not be supported however should be simple to do with code.

The information you wish to pass to NinjaTrader you could use Streamwriter to write that info to a text file. I do not have any examples of how this could be done on IB, however here would be the equivalent in NT. See the following example,

Then within NinjaTrader, you would use Streamreader to read this file, see,
