94 errors when launching NT8

    94 errors when launching NT8

    When launching NT8 for the first time since replacing my HDD, I received 94 errors on start up (yes, I counted).

    Each says, "Unable to load" ...such and such file...
    hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character> LIne 1, position 1.
    at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderlmpl.Throw(Exception e)
    at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderlmpl.ThrowInvalidChar(Char ⌷ data, Int32 length, Int32 invCharPos)
    at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderlmpl.ParseRootLevelWhitesp ace()
    at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderlmpl.ParseDocumentContent( )
    at System.Xml.Linq.XDocument.Load(XmlReader reader, LoadOptions options)
    at System.Xml.Linq.XDocument.Load(String uri, LoadOptions options)
    at NinjaTrader.Cbi.Risk.LoadAll()

    Six examples of the such and such files are:

    risk template from file '._NinjaTrader Brokerage Default.xml': System.Xml.XmlException: ".",
    fee template from file '._Default.xml': System.Xml.XmlException: ".",
    commision template '._NinjaTrader Brokerage Lifetime.xml': System.Xml.XmlException: ".",
    commision template '._NinjaTrader Brokerage Lease.xml': System.Xml.XmlException: ".",
    commision template '._NinjaTrader Brokerage Direct.xml': System.Xml.XmlException: ".",
    trading hours from file '._US Equities RTH.xml': System.Xml.XmlException: ".",


    For months prior to replacing the HHD, I had zero issues running NT8. I want to mention that I also have issues trying to initiate Tick Replay, but my gut tells me this is related to the launching errors or possibly the snapshot data feed I receive from IB.

    I tried uninstalling NT8 then reinstalling. No luck. I am willing to reinstall whatever I need to repair this issue. Thank you for your consideration and help. Cheers,

    Can you send me your log and trace files so I may look into the errors further?

    You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support.

    Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

    Please list 'ATTN: Patrick H' in the subject line and a reference to this thread in the body of the email.

      Still have Tick Replay issue

      Thanks Patrick. Uninstalling the program, deleting the NT8 Program Files, and then reinstalling certainly took care of the launching errors.

      However, this did not fix the Tick Replay issue. I keep getting an Insufficient Historical Data prompt when I have 30 days of data loaded (see attached screenshot).

      Reminder that I have IB as a broker, which provides snapshot data.

        Thank you for your response.

        Interactive Brokers does not supply historical tick data in the NinjaTrader platform. Therefore, unless you have historical tick data recorded or form another historical data provider it will not load Tick Replay.
