    Add Volumetric Instrument Name

    Hello,

isn´t it possible to add Volumetric dataseries in a script without "AddVolumetric(stringinstrumentName,..."
same as it is possible with other dataseries for current instrument?

Even when using additonal dataseries only from the basic instrument where script is enabled, then one has to code for every instrument a proper script.

Isnt it possible "as usual" " like AddDataSeries(BarsPeriodType.Range, 3);" with (AddDataSereis (Volumetric....)

Trading equities and currencies instead of having one script one needs a script for every instrument (when volumetric is not primary dataseries of course). When doing changes in the code this has to be done then for each script for each instrument instead of one time modifying.

    Thank you!
    Tony

    Hello Tony,

Volumetric bars are not added with AddDataSeries().

Instead these are added with AddVolumetric().

Below is a public link to the help guide.
    https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...volumetric.htm

With any added series these have to be hard coded.

    From the help guide:
"Arguments supplied to AddDataSeries() should be hardcoded and NOT dependent on run-time variables which cannot be reliably obtained during State.Configure (e.g., Instrument, Bars, or user input). Attempting to add a data series dynamically is NOT guaranteed and therefore should be avoided. Trying to load bars dynamically may result in an error similar to: Unable to load bars series. Your NinjaScript may be trying to use an additional data series dynamically in an unsupported manner."

However, from my understanding the Instrument parameter can be null.
