    Strategy keeps disabling

    Whats this error message and how do I fix it...everytime I turn a strategy on I get this message then strategy automatically disables
    3/29/2019 12:06:19 PM Default Unable to cancel out live orders. Strategy 'MyCustomStrategys/155874139' was not started.

        how do I know which of the orders belong to the strategy thats making the errors?

          I am more or less curious if the orders are stuck. Can you confirm that the orders are able to be cancelled manually? I suspect they would be orders on the same instrument you are enabling the strategy on.

          Also, what logic are you using to cancel the orders in your strategy?

          What StartBehavior are you using?

            Some orders are able to cancel out manually but I dont know if those orders are the ones associated with that strategy...how would I know that

            Im not sure what you mean by what logic...Im using take profit, stop loss and Enter Long and Enter Short Orders

            Im using Wait Until Flat...Is this good?

              Im seeing these orders in the positions tab doesnt let me close them...I dont know if thats what you're reffering to...its on sim101 account

                  Sounds like the orders are indeed stuck.

                  I suggest resetting the SIM account and then trying again to enable the strategy. Resetting a simulation account will clear all historical trade data from this account. Please follow the instructions below to reset a simulation account.
                  • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the Accounts tab
                  • Right click on your simulation account and select 'Edit Account'
                  • Press the "Reset" button

                  Once you reset the SIM account try and enable your strategy.

                    do I have to leave clear history enabled? cuz everytime I do it gets stuck for days

                      I saw you tell someone to rename their db folder...is there anyway to do that and still keep your strategies and workspace?

                        Yes I think it would be ideal to go ahead and clear the history as well.

                        In regards to renaming the database folder, that is certainly the 'nuclear option' but would also solve the issue. You can rename your "db" folder without affecting your automated strategies or your workspaces. This would create a new NinjaTrader database and clear all previously downloaded historical data from the platform.

                          I tried this and couldnt find my auto strategies in the strategies tab

                            You will need to re-add them to your strategies tab, but they will persist inside the installation(meaning you can add them back to the strategies tab).
