    Strategy not working in Chart

    NinjaTrader Support,

    I have hired a contractor to create strategy for me. He has provided me with a strategy that is working in Strategy Analyzer however not working in Charts.

    He is showing me a print screen of the strategy working in a chart on his computer however on my computer it is not working. (see attachments)

    Can you please help me troubleshoot this.

    Thank you for your note.

    When you apply the strategy to a chart, do you see the strategy in the strategies tab of the control center? What color is it in? is it checked?

      NT Support,

      I'm using NT8. Checking the strategies tab in control centre page it was white. I enabled it and it went green. This however has not changed the chart - nothing appears on chart still.

      What are the next steps in troubleshooting?

        Did you actually open the strategy in a chart?

          Hello Blairski,

          Green would indicate the strategy is running.

          Is it the lack of historical trade plots on the chart which is suggesting to you that its not running? If so you would right click on the chart>Data Series> and set Plot Executions to "text and marker". This would plot historical plots.

            Really not sure what's going on. Maybe I need to delete NinjaTrader from desktop and download fresh copy. This is what consultant recommended.

            I will lose all my settings though :/

            Is there a way to save template files for Market analzer or charts, etc...?

Also within the email please include a link to this thread, and attach the log and trace files for the day in subject which you can find in My Documents>NinjaTrader8>Log and My Documents>NinjaTrader8/Trace folders.
