    Strategy Anaylzer log tab - filtering cant be undone

    More issues with the SA Log tab... I have a good number of optimisations, walk-forwards etc, over a handful of instruments.

    If I filter on Instrument say... it correctly shows me only rows for that instrument (say GC 12-19)
    If I then try to remove the filter... I still get ONLY GC 12-19 rows showing.

    If I then filter by strategy... select one of the several I use, it correctly only shows me those rows.
    Try to Select All ... same deal. Nothing changes - both filters are now stuck ON...

    Only solution seems to be to kill off the SA window and open a new one - but that clearly should not be required, given the option to select ALL (or even just un-checking a particular instrument).

    I have more... but I'll start a new thread for each issue...

    Thank you for the post.

    I wanted to gather more details here so I get the correct steps that you followed reported. I do see some of the actions here are not working as intended, can you provide the specific steps you are reporting? I will try and report each item that I can see here, but wanted to make sure we get your steps reported first.

    When you say that you remove the filter, are you clicking All or doing something else?

    Also if you have found more situations involving the log filtering not working correctly, could you make a couple of lists of the steps that you used so I can report them all together?

      Hi Jesse... pretty simple really... I tried both unchecking the checked instrument (in the same right-click menu used to action the filter), and also selecting the ALL option at the top of the list. Neither works. Ditto for filter on strategy. That's all there is... not doing anything else.

      Should be easy to replicate... if you need pics or vid... let me know.

      In specific steps...
      1. Right-click on (say) Instrument in the Log tab
      2. Filter on Instrument... select instrument
      3. See the filter has been applied
      4. Try to reverse it.. ie right-click... Filter on Instrument
      5 Select ALL (or uncheck the instrument just checked)
      6. Observe... nothing changes ;-)

      Sorry, the reference to "having more" was not more instances of filtering failing... but other issues I've found on the SA tab generally.

      Filtering is simply as described above.

            Cool - thanks Jesse. Hope this can get fixed next release.. it is a significant annoyance! I think I now have 4 ID's to watch for in the next release. I wonder if I can make it an even handful? ;-)

              Jesse I just noticed another wrong behaviour re filtering...that is NOT related to removing filters, but adding. Maybe you can update the ticket...

              If I filter on say CL 09-19, then ADD CL 10-19... both months show as ticked, but I still only get the initial CL 9-19.
              So it seems once a filter is applied, subsequent operations do not trigger a refresh of the query...

              BTW... this also applies to Strategy. I already raised a new feature request, hoping to add filtering by backtest type and data series... that would be really useful.

                  Well that's weird... I have done an application Repair recently (at OS level).. and a Database Repair in NT, just to ensure I had a healthy setup.

                  I still cannot add a second instrument to the filter criteria. I can, however, do something now that did not work before...
                  I have Instrument GC 12-19 filtered. I then filtered on Strategy... works as noted above.
                  But I can now in Strategy filter select ALL ... and I now get all strategies back. Nice... this was not working when I wrote the original post!

                  Doing the same on Instrument... still just leaves GC 12-19.

                  If I can provide any more info I will... for me, this is annoying, but not critical ;-)

                    I am just confirming that I do not see what you described in our testing release, it appears to have been resolved with the other report. You do not have the current internal release, you would still see the problems you had described in the release you can download. I am referring to our non public internal testing release for the test I did.

                      Ah, OK... I didn't pick up you were using a pre-release version... glad to hear it's been resolved! I hope some of my other issues also get cleared up, particularly those in the Strategy Analyzer log tab... I really need this stuff !!

                      Any idea when the next release is scheduled?
