Trailing stop - using ATR

Hi There,

I'm trying to do an ATM strategy that I can use in both my daily trading and the Strategy builder.

It should be quite simple but I can't find a way to do so.

This is the Trailing stop that I tray to do.

Once I enter short o long the stop loss should be placed at 1.7 x last candle ATR value.
Then when the price achieves break-even + 0.6 x last candle ATR value the trailing stop is enabled and it should follow the price 0.5 x last candle ATR value.

Can you give me hand with this?

Thanks for your post.

An ATM cannot be programmed as you have specified. ATMs can only run with pre-set values.

The Strategy builder cannot connect with or reference an ATM strategy.

The strategy builder could be used to create the exits you describe however it will only work with entries made by the strategy itself and not by any manual entries.

It is possible to use an ATM from a Ninjascript strategy however that will use special ATM methods as found here: https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...gy_methods.htm Again this type strategy could only work with entries that it makes and not manual entries.

I am not aware of a solution for your specifications (if they include manual entries), you may want to consult with 3rd party programmers, if that is of interest we can provide a link to providers of that service.
