    Using IB account for paper trading

    I have an IB account setup for paper trading. It shows up correctly in Ninjatrader and i receive real-time data for the instrument that i want to trade. But i cannot work out how to send orders to the paper trade account. There seems to be a couple of accounts listed in Ninjatrader ( Sim101 along with my IB account ) so maybe that's the issue. Although i have specified the default account to use in the 'Automated trading interface' settings to be the IB account so should be okay.


    Can i get rid of the Sim101 account?



    Will executions only show up on the IB account when running the strategy in real time?
    Is it expected that no activity shows up during a strategy analyzer session?

    Thank you for your post.

    The Sim101 is a local account for paper trading that cannot be removed. It's expected for a disconnected account to still list in the Control Center Accounts tab, but it will list with no green light to the left of the "Connection" column.

    When connected to the paper trading account, from the Accounts tab, does this green indicator show next to the account same account as when connected to the live account?

    I also suggest verifying the setup of the connection/version of TWS in use with the below connection guide.

    Note: For paper trading accounts, the Socket port value must be 7497 in both TWS and the Connections > Configure settings of NinjaTrader.

    Live orders generated by NinjaTrader will be able to seen in TWS. The Strategy Analyzer results are determined by the strategy ran, settings and data in use. I've linked below a video from our YouTube channel with an overview of using the Strategy Analyzer.
