Condition to see if a moving average is sloping up or down?

Hello,

In the strategy builder, is it possible to look if a moving average is pointing up or down? I want to enter if a hull moving average is pointing up, for example.

Is it possible?

Yes, there are a couple of ways in the strategy builder.

In the conditions builder, you can select Misc>Rising or Misc>Falling and select the HMA as the "Series 1". in the center you would select "Equals" and on the right side you would select Misc>true to test for a true condition. The rising and falling methods will only check the current value to the previous value so it is quick reacting.

You can also use the Slope method in the strategy builder and this would allow you to specify the number of bars to check the slope of so you can make it as reactive to change as you wish. In the conditions builder, on the right side you would select Misc>Slope, by default it will be 10 bars to check the slope of, for "Series 1" you would select set then Indicatorss>HMA (and set the period needed), in the center you would select either Greater or Less, on the right side you would select Misc>Numeric value and leave the value as zero. A positive value indicates the slope is increasing, a negative would be decreasing.
