    position.quantity

    Hi, basic question.

    Does position.quantity return an absolute value, or if the position is short does it return a negative number?

    Hello stewarco,

    Thanks for your post.

    The value will be positive and the direction can be seen with Position.MarketPosition. This could be tested with a snippet like the following:

    Code:
    protected override void OnBarUpdate()
    {
    	if(Position.MarketPosition == MarketPosition.Flat)
    		EnterShort();
    	else
    		Print(Position.Quantity);
    }
    Publicly available documentation on the Position object can be found here - https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...s/position.htm

    Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
