    Strategy Analyzer Data

    Hello everyone,
When running a BOW (Backtest, Optimize, Walk forward), how is it able to test all this when I'm not connected and also don't have the data in my computer?

    Hello SBMT17,

    Thank you for your note.

Have you confirmed this data is not on your machine by going to control center>tools>historical data and opening the historical data tab?

I look forward to your reply.

      Hey again Alan,

So there is quite a bit of data there in the Historical.
Why is there so much data there in the historical? I thought the only data I had would be the data I download for Market Replay?

I'm sorry for not fully understanding, still wrapping my head around everything but this sure is fun again.

I look forward to your reply

        Hello SBMT17,

Data would be added to the historical data manager anytime you opened a chart. Or if you had a script which pulled a data series. This data would be used to populate a chart in the future. Market replay data is for replaying market data and not the same as historical data. You are correct, only replay data you download would be on local machine.

You could see the following link to our help guide on historical data,

          Thank you Alan!
I've heard of 'tools' out there that will clear your cache and historical data prior to loading it, do you know of any?
If yes, would any of these tools affect the data I have in Market Replay historical?

          My goal is:
          1) Be able to save a back up copy of my live orders, move it to external
          2) Clear cache/history of 'bots' orders and my live orders
          3) Start NT with a clean memory bank

Does this sound feasible? If so would you suggest how please sir?

            Hello SMBT17,

I’m unaware of any tools however you could write a script which would delete a file or folder however this would not be supported.

To export your working orders from the orders tab of the control center you could right click in the orders window>export.

To delete the cache you could go to my docs>nt8>db and delete the files in the cache folder. You could do a web search for C# + delete files if you planned to write a script to delete the files in this folder>not suggested. You could use that same approach to delete the historical data within the DB folders however this would not be supported nor suggested.

Clearing trade history with ninjascript would not be supported but this data could be cleared via control center>tools>database management>Reset DB.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.
