How to: Copy and Rename?

Hello,
I want to copy the default SampleMACrossOver strategy then rename it in order to be able to fidget with it without losing the default SampleMACrossOver.

I also would like to be able to change name & Description

How do I do this?

Hello SBMT17,

To copy an unlocked script open the script in the NinjaScript Editor, right-click the text in the script, select Save As, give the script a new name, click OK.

The name and description can be changed in OnStateChange() in the State.SetDefaults action block.

Thank you for such a quick reply,
I am watching the 401 video now thank you.
When I right click to 'Save As', the save as is greyed out. Any idea why this would be? I've followed the steps in the video to the T.

Hello SBMT17,

I would only expect the Save As to be grayed out if you are trying to copy a strategy that was created with the Strategy Builder.

If you are copying the SampleMACrossOver this would be unexpected and I am not able to reproduce this when copying this specific script on my end.

Well, maybe, I don't know. But the video is actually giving different directions than you did. In the video it walks you through the process of 'creating' a new strategy, then right clicking in that new one you ...... oh man i'm dumb.

The behavior of copying a strategy in the Strategy Builder has changed since this video was created and uploaded.
Strategies locked for editing in the Strategy Builder would need to be copied in the Strategy Builder on the welcome page.
New strategies that are created from the NinjaScript Editor are automatically unlocked and would be copied using the steps from the video.

However, you stated that you are copying the SampleMACrossOver included with NinjaTrader. This script cannot be opened with the Strategy Builder and would be copied using the steps in the video.

If you are unable to copy this specific script I would like to schedule a call with you to further investigate.

NinjaTrader has a Playback101 account when connected to the Playback connection.

The Accounts tab is definitely showing a Playback101 account.

Is there an issue looking at orders on the Orders tab of the Control Center?

Based on the time and date of the playback it doesn't look like you are including any trades from the Playback101 in the TradePerformance window in the From and To dates.

Right, that's the issue i'm having:
Trying to look at the trades in the Trader Performance window. That's what I meant... I'm sorry if I boggled that....

How do I review playback trades in trader performance?
