ID:	1139264 I tried to import a statistical DLL however now it says...

'An assembly with the same identity 'System, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken = b77a5c561934e089' has already been imported. Try removing one of the duplicate references.

I've looked thorugh and tried to follow previous posts (on NT and others) however I cannot figure out where the duplicate is. Is there an EASY way to locate it. If not, is there a way to save and reinstall NT8?

...is there a template for importing DLL files?

    Thank you!

    Hello elcowen,

    Thank you for your post.

The error sounds like an unwanted reference. Do you have the package that you imported? Could you send a screen shot of your current references (these can be found under the NinjaScript Editor > Right click on Editor > References) Please note you may need to expand the window to see all references.

To send a screenshot with Windows 7 or newer I would recommend using the Windows Snipping Tool.

Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

Thanks in advance; I look forward to assisting you further.

        Hello elcowen,

        Thank you for your reply.

That file you're specifying appears to be an installer for the .NET 5.0 SDK, not a DLL. Further, NinjaTrader uses .NET 4.8 currently.

Can you walk me through exactly the steps you took to import? Did you try to import using the Import > NinjaScript Add-on function from the Control Center? Did you manually place the file into a folder within NinjaTrader?

Thanks in advance; I look forward to assisting you further.

I found a website with this file then downloaded it and manually moved it into the NT8 folder. I did NOT Import as an Add-on.

            Hello elcowen,

            Thank you for your reply.

NinjaTrader would not be able to support a DLL using .NET 5.0 - it can only support .NET 4.8 or earlier. Please remove the file you added from the NinjaTrader folder manually by dragging it out of your NinjaTrader 8 folder to your desktop temporarily and try to compile.

That should get things working again, at least.

Next, I'd like to test on my end to see if this is something that would be able to be imported, so, right click on the file you were trying to import that should now be on your desktop > Send to > Compressed (Zip) file. Once you have the file in a Zip, please attach that zip file to your reply so I may test on my end.

Thanks in advance; I look forward to assisting you further.

Now they look like they've all updated on 1/29 (the day I tried to import file) so do I have to move all these files?

This is a mess. I truly appreciate your insight!

                Thx

                  Hello elcowen,

                  Thank you for your reply.

No, you should not remove any files besides the one you dragged in there manually as moving those folders will likely prevent the platform from running altogether.

If you have removed any other files, please replace them.

At this point we should get you set up for a remote session so we may look and see if we can correct your issue. Please write an email to scriptingsupport [at] ninjatrader [dot] com with 2945543 ATTN Kate W. with a link to this thread in the body of the email so we may arrange time to remotely connect.

Thanks in advance; I look forward to assisting you further.
