Cumulative VS Net Profit

I know how the calculations differ but should a backtest on a single instrument result with Net Profit = Cumulative Profit?

Hello mlprice12,

The Net profit would be the profit after the test is over. The Cumulative profit will be the profit up to the point of the trade in question. These should match when the backtest is over and the cumulative profit catches up with the total net profit.
