I trade algorithmic strategies and I trade forex.
I use Ninja Trader 8 connected with IB TWS
I am in process of setting up IB Friends and Family Advisor account and likely to have the Advisor account ready soon and will link a few sub accounts thereafter.
Unfortunately neither IB has any decent instructions on operations of their Advisor account nor Ninja Trader has covered operations of Advisor account through Ninja Trader in their manual.
On Ninja Trader Support forum I have read about some challenges about allocation different size of trades for each sub account. Most of posts are very old so I am not sure what is the status.
Once I have the IB Advisor account ready, I will spend time figuring it out but will be grateful for any advise on this forum for following situation -
1. I trade multiple automated strategies.
2. Trade entries are Market Orders along with pending orders for exit.
3. Some trades exit with the pending orders and some exit with a new Market order (and the associated pending orders are cancelled)
4. I will be trading IB Sub accounts through an Advisor account
5. The capital in each sub account will vary significantly
My question is
1. Can one instance of a strategy fire different position size to multiple sub accounts (position size allocation either manual or automated as per capital size of the sub account)?
2. If one instance is not possible, can I set up multiple instances (say for 3 sub accounts setup 3 instance of strategy) and be able to fire different position size for each sub account?
3. Is the weekly disconnection issue between IB and NT8 any better with Advisor account structure?
Thank you,
Surendra
