No historical market data / market data gaps

    No historical market data / market data gaps

    Hello,

    I do not have any market data for ES, MES.

    I have a already deleted cache, day, minute, tick and have restarted NinjaTrader.

    When opening Chart and right click "Reload all historical data" is not available.

    Please advise how to retrieve all historical data.

    Thank you for writing in.

    Please create the following chart to use for testing. This removes many variables to ensure nothing is preventing the chart from working as expected
    • Go to the Control Center > New > Chart
    • Select the ES 06-22
    • Make it a 1-minute chart
    • Set the 'Days to load' to 5
    • Make sure 'Template' in the top-right corner is set to < None >
    • Set the Time frame > Trading hours > To "Default 24x7"
    • Click OK to make the chart
    • Does this chart load in as expected?
    • Is the Historical Data showing? Is there Real Time data?
    • If you open the Chart Trader panel, does it show values for the Ask and Bid quotes or just 0's?
      • If this chart loaded in and is working as expected, how is it different from the other charts?

    If the Test Chart didn't load in, please provide more information on the questions below to look into why there is no historical data showing.
    • Are you using a Simulation, Free, Leased, or Lifetime License Key? Don't post the license key in this public forum, just answer with the type. If you are unsure, it's okay.
    • What broker or market data provider are you connecting to for Real-time and Historical Market Data?
    • Are you connected to your Market Data provider and see the green circle next to its name?
    • Do you get Real time market data? Once you open the chart, does it start plotting from that moment in time or just nothing loads in?
    • Are you using a Tick, Minute, or Daily bar based chart?
    • Do other instruments like the NQ 06-22, GC 06-22, or YM 06-22 Load in or do no Futures instruments work?

      Hello Clayton,

      thank you for posting back.

      I followed your steps also making a minute chart and using default 24x7. The chart does not load as expected. There are no historical data. The chart is starting with only one bar from the moment when it starts, which is the first bar. I am using Lifetime License Key and also NinjaTrader Brokerage together with CQG data provider. The green circle is there. Using the chart trader I see tick data. Other instruments have the same issue.

      The issue seems to be somehow since the latest update to 8.0.26.0 64-bit.

        Hello Gerik,

        Thank you for the update.

        You say the green circle is there, but what is it actually next to in the Control Center > Connections menu?
        • Make sure the Green Circle is next to your NinjaTrader Continuum connection.
        • It sounds like you may be connecting to the "Simulated Data Feed" which provides made-up market data that can be controlled using a "Trend" slider and no Historical Data.
        • If so, disconnect from the "Simulated Data Feed" and then click on your "My NinjaTrader Continuum" connection to connect to that
        • Then, right-click on the chart and select "Reload all historical data"
        If you have made sure you are connected to your NinjaTrader Brokerage Account for real-time market data, but the Historical Data still isn't loading in, please use the following steps to reset the Instruments and then restart your platform:
        1. First, disconnect from any data providers by navigating to the Control Center > Connections menu, and left-click on “disconnect” that appears to the right when hovering your mouse over any active connection
        2. Next, reset your instruments by navigating to the Control Center > Tools > Database Management
        3. In the Database Management window, under the “Update instruments” section, ensure that “General properties”, "Futures expiries" and “Symbol mappings” options are checked and then click Update
        4. Lastly, restart NinjaTrader for the changes to occur

        After restarting NinjaTrader, reconnect to your "My NinjaTrader Continuum" connection and then see if the chart loads in.



        If you are still unable to see the historical data loading in on the chart, please use the steps below to send your log and trace files directly to platform support so we may look into this behavior further:
        • Go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support
        • Enter your email
        • Enter the Subject as "Clayton ATTN 3615806 "
        • Expand the "Other files" section
        • Check the following boxes:
        • Log and Trace files
        • Workspace and UI Settings
        • Templates
        • Send the message
