Strategy Builder basics not working as expected

It does look a little confusing...

But - In strategy builder, if you play around with "Additional Data" - you might see some reasoning behind it? (I'm trying).

In additional data - add a secondary data series. I added "ES 03-17", 1 minute.

Then in Conditions and Actions - I changed Misc->Series 1 from Default Input to Data Series->ES 03 17.

My condition becomes something like "ES 03-17 (1 Minute[0])[0] > High of ES 03-17(1 Minute)[1] )"

So you have to assume the first part is "Close of ES 03-17"... really bizarre.

I tried to rationalize it and failed. While not a 'bug' - it's definitely racks up there with Poor UI design/execution. Series terminology became intermixed with actual terminology.

Are you suggesting that Defaultinput is replacing Close in the strategy builder?

No, as you noticed it is correctly using Close in the code.

Would you be able to explain this inconsistency please?

Is there any documentation that explains how this Default input is to be used?

No, it is the option to allow any input for an indicator though. So when you are viewing an indicator in the Indicators menu and set the Open, High, Low, Close, etc. as the Input then this would be what DefaultInput refers to.
