    Cannot Enable Automated Trading Strategy

    I am unable to enable any Automated Trading Strategy on my NT8 platform. Tried it with the sample strategies provided with the platform and still no joy. Checked the logs and they gave me the following:

    Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums!

    The log file is a good place to check for any errors. In this case there is no error, the message bolded is a normal start-up message advising that strategies are disabled.

    To enable a strategy you need to be connected to a live or market replay data source and you need to click the "enable" check box for the strategy. When applying the strategy look for the "Enabled" check box in the Properties section of the strategy. Please see attached for a visual.

      Cannot Enable Auto Trading

      Thank you for the response Paul but the Enable check box does not allow me to enable it by clicking. Nor can I do that with the Strategy Analyzer.
      I am familiar with NT having written the book "Automated Trading Strategies by Example: 9 Algorithms Using NinjaTrader 7 Strategy Wizard" but this NT8 is giving me trouble.

        Thanks for your reply.

        Please send your log and trace files along with a copy of your license key in an e-mail to PlatformSupport[at]NinjaTrader[dot]Com. Mark the e-mail Atten:Paul and please add a link to this thread.

        Please follow these steps to create zipped folders to add to your e-mail:
        Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
        Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
        Add the 2 compressed folders as attachments to the email.
        Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
