Feature Request - Strategy Builder use named ATM strategy

May I request a review to see if Strategy builder could add a feature to use a named ATM strategy on the final page where we generally can only use simple trailing stop rather multiple levels of trailing stop, etc...

Any news about about this suggestion? Does NT8 team add this feature? Is there any reply from the team?

No feed back yet, just the comment you see about if others vote for it.

+1 for this feature. It would help a lot if one could select an ATM-template in the strategy builder and not code it manually (and thus not able to edit the strategy in strategy builder after once edited..)

I've spent some time learning through trial and error in the code and setting up trailing stop win and several TP-levels in the code is not that hard after all. I'm not currently using TSW strategies but only set BreakEven and that seems to work good enough PnL wise. And setting BE very simple once you have done it once and understands how the logic works.

But the ability to choose ATM-strategy in Strategy Builder would allow new users to build complicated exit strategies easily. Then it is another story, if "more complicated" is better or not. I guess it is based on what you trade and build your strategies for. But based on my current experience, simplistic approach seem much better.

                  My 2c.

                  Chris

                    Hello Chris,

I have submitted the votes to the SFT.

The benefit to using an ATM from within a strategy would be that a user can manually modify the working PT's and SL's, however the draw back is that the strategy can't be backtested and the exits are no longer managed by the strategy. You could build a strategy to mimic a ATM. If using an ATM from a strategy is really important to you I would encourage you to learn NinjaScript and work within the editor, which would allow you to build this type of strategy relatively easily.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

                      Hi,

                      Thanks!

Yes, as I tried to say, is that when getting comfortable with the code/scripting, ATM's becomes less of a mandatory criteria. Everything and beyond can be done when digging in.

                      br,
                      Chris

I would also like to be able to choose an ATM strategy from within Strategy Builder. Add my vote.

& suroot not sure how to create a simple ATM like component in Strategy Builder. My attempt was to create an exit if Unrealized Price exceeds a number of ticks but this does not provide an adjustable exit line on the chart. So it always takes me out without any ability to manage it.

May I request examples of a Strategy Builder using this make shift model?

FYI, I was pushed to this because NT8 has/had an error that canceled the target and stop loss for Unirenko's upon opening a new bar. I have been told this will be corrected in the upcoming release. But now I see how much better it would be to be able to use a named strategy even if it could not be back tested.

                            Hope you can provide example(s.)

                              Hello JMont1,

Below is a link to examples of managing exit behavior using the Strategy Builder.

For working with Atm Strategy Templates these cannot be used in the Strategy Builder. Included with NinjaTrader is the SampleAtmStrategy example that demonstrates working with Atm Strategy methods.
Also, below is a link to the help guide.
