Strategy Builder Windows should be unique windows objects and their daughter windows

When opening two different Strategy Builder Windows and running through their respective wizards, there are condition windows that pop up. If such a Condition Window is open in one Strategy Builder Window, it's 'modal' operation prohibits a completely separate Strategy Builder Window from opening its own condition window. Hence, you really cannot use both at once, separately as if they are two independent objects.

It would be nice to be able to right-click and make a copy of existing code built with the strategy builder window rather than having to hand-copy the setup as needed.

    Hello wildwex,

    Thanks for your post.

In the strategy builders condition/action window, of the conditions to copy, you can right mouse click and select "save as" and provide a filename. In another strategy builder in the Condition/action window, you can right mouse click and select "Load" and then select the file to load which will then plug in the conditions previously saved. You can do the same in the actions set as well.

Yes, this is true and I'm aware of that feature. What's at issue, however, is that you cannot cut and paste across two different Strategy Builder windows because the child window is modal (that is, it can only be open in one Stategy Builder instance). You cannot copy the information between two different Strategy Builder windows as a result.

        Hello wildwex,

        Thanks for your reply.

So for clarification, you want a feature request that saves the time/key strokes that it takes to save conditions using save as/load between multiple strategy builder instances to instead use copy /paste between two instances?

The issue has to do with the fact that the dialog windows within a Strategy Builder Window instance are 'modal'.
          Definition of Modal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modal_window

That means that if the dialog window is open, you are unable to open another instance of that window within a separate Strategy Builder instance. That's the issue and not allowing a COPY AND PASTE between two different Strategy Builder windows where one would like to COPY the selected STRATEGY and PASTE into a different dialog window within the Strategy builder window.

            Hello wildwex,

Thanks for your reply and educational link.

So your concern is of system design and I have been answering your initial statement of, "It would be nice to be able to right-click and make a copy of existing code built with the strategy builder window rather than having to hand-copy the setup as needed.". Do you agree that using the function to right mouse click and save as in the source strategy and right mouse click load in the target strategy(s) accomplishes this?

              Hello wildwex,

Here is a short video that walks through the process to save as and load conditions (same for actions), to help clarify what you can do: https://Paul-ninjaTrader.tinytake.co...Ml8xMDQ4MDEzOA The advantage is that you always have these saved and can use in multiple condition builders.
