Error in NinjaTraderAddOnProject.zip

On the help page NT provides a sample AddOn Project. The link text is "Download Visual Studio Solution for AddOn Development".

I downloaded this solution today, build it and added as a reference to my NinjaTrader installation.

I'm getting the following error:

Unhandled Exception: 'Set connectionId threw an exception.' Line number '7' and line position '3'.



I have a copy of this file (download from the same place several months ago) which works fine.

I retested the two different solutions several times today. The old file consistently works. The new file consistently fails.

I'm running NT 8.0.19.1 64-bit.

I tried to upload the old file as an attachment, but it was too big.

I have tested and I am not able to reproduce this behavior.

If you follow the exact steps shown in the video are you experiencing different behavior than what is demonstrated in the video?

I am also attaching the dll compiled in the video that I used if you would like to test it.

Following your video, everything worked.

Looks like this was due to having my project files in a OneDrive folder. Something seems to happen to the DLL when built in a OneDrive folder.

I don't normally do this, but wanted to share the zip between two computers and decided to build the project in place.

Sorry for the bad english, I used the google translator.
I came across the same problem and the solution was simple:
I removed the references to the NinjaTrader.Core.dll and NinjaTrader.Gui.dll dll's from the project and added them manually from the ninjatrader installation folder.
I hope it helps other people who are facing the same problem.

May I confirm that you are using 8.0.21.1 and that you are clicking the Visual Studio icon button on the NinjaScript Editor to launch the project?

NinjaTrader has ensured that all references for NinjaTrader will be included when clicking the Visual Studio icon button on the NinjaScript Editor.
